Longtime south UW campus area music venue the Annex has suspended operations, according to a communication posted on its website.
The venue, literally an annex/side room of Regent Street Retreat bar and grill, has hosted live music and events for many years. The note states that owner Bruce Gerhartz made the decision last week to cancel all events scheduled after June 27, though both venues will be open for Badgers football Saturdays beginning Sept. 1.
A pair of upcoming shows booked by concert promoter TKG Music Group have been moved, one completely out of town. Hate Eternal's headlining show on Sunday, July 3, will now take place at the Miramar Theatre in Milwaukee. Additionally, the Fair to Midland performance on July 17 has been moved to Segredo. The Afrovibe Entertainment DJ show scheduled for Saturday, July 2, is canceled.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: On June 22, 2011, Owner Bruce Gerhartz has made an executive decision to CANCEL ALL SHOWS and suspend events in the Annex until further notice starting June 27, 2011. The REGENT STREET RETREAT will be open for business 4-12 pm Wed through Thurs, 4-2 am Friday and 11 2 am Saturday. The Regent and Annex will be open for all Home football games starting Sept 1st. The MAC LETHAL SHOW for June 24th is STILL ON!!!
