Throughout the country, there is a small but dedicated group of enthusiasts who document railroad crossings and accompanying train signals. One of these persons is Andre Wehrle, a Stoughton native who has shot videos throughout the state of the rail behemoths. At the end of 2006, he captured photos and video footage of a Wisconsin Southern train crossing through the east side of Madison. Specifically, he reports that engines SD20 #2051 and SD40-2 #4002 led the train, which was headed outbound at the Milwaukee Street crossing, just a few blocks west of Fair Oaks Avenue.
