I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell is the movie of the book by the blogger Tucker Max, who has attracted young readers with his stories of alcohol-soaked sex romps. This unfunny comedy is chiefly memorable, if that's the right word, for its contempt of disabled people and, especially, women. A male character tells a female character, "Get away from me or I'm going to carve another fuck hole in your torso." It's downhill from there.
I did like seeing Matt Czuchry as the star. He was a lovable scamp on Gilmore Girls, and here he plays a character called Tucker Max. Czuchry holds the big screen well, and with any luck, he'll survive this movie.
