RSVP for Alive at 17: Celebrating Our Cultures Together
The Capital City Hues marks 17 years of publishing news with a multicultural focus with this celebration, dubbed “Alive at 17,” on June 24. Along with an opening program featuring Multicultural Service Award presentations, a Ho-Chunk land acknowledgement, African libation ceremony and other recognitions, entertainment includes traditional dance performances from many cultures and music by Mariachi Sol del Madison, Beni Daiko, Hanah Jon Taylor Artet, Mt. Zion Gospel Choir, Outside the Blues, the Old Men of Madtown Singers and DJ Pain 1. Food carts on site will be included in the ticket price. Tickets are on sale through June 16.

Reflect as we host both an African Libation Ceremony in honor of those who passed since we last gathered, and an Acknowledgement of the Ho-Chunk land, while also paying tribute to Ho-Chunk President Marlon WhiteEagle, Dr. Jonathan Overby, Dr. Ademola lyiEweka, Sharyl Kato and Valentina Ahedo with Multicultural Service Awards!
