press release: Established in 2009, the Isthmus Brass was formed in Madison when some of the best and busiest brass players in Southern Wisconsin looked for a way to collaborate and perform together. The Isthmus Brass Quintet, subset of the larger 12-piece “Isthmus Brass” is comprised of the finest professional brass players in the Midwest and will present a wildly diverse program "From Bach to Bernstein" on Monday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Taliesin’s Hillside Theater.
Featuring exciting original works for brass quintet as well as dazzling arrangements of some of the most famous composers such as Piazzolla, Greig and Mendelssohn, the concert will showcase the virtuosity and power of brass instruments. Join us for an evening of beloved works from the baroque and romantic eras as well as a number of popular tunes from the golden age of jazz. We hope you can come out and enjoy an evening of brass music in the beautiful rural surroundings of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture.
Admission is by free will offering, with a suggested donation of $15. Hillside Theater is located at 6604 State Hwy 23, about five miles south of Spring Green.
