A record release show is always a milestone, but this show is triply epic. Dana Perry (of Dana & the Joanis and Imaginary Watermelon) unveils the new EP Kill the Rock Star, and its title track/lead single is a rallying call for artists to follow the muse rather than chase the fame dragon. Pop band LINE (pictured) started as a solo project of singer-songwriter Maddie Batzli, but has morphed into a full band that now appears in recorded form with the EP Choosing Sides. And Kat & the Hurricane also release a new EP, Libra, which the trio promises “will make you sad in the best possible way.”

A unique and semi-percussive guitar style, combined with poignant lyrics and powerhouse vocals; her music resonates with anyone who recognizes that we are all on our own Journey. LINE is a lyric-driven pop band based in Madison, WI. Balancing a range of influences, LINE - Band channels a sound that swings between moody indie rock and reflective contemporary folk. Self-analysis, queer love, and musings on current events show up as common themes in singer Maddie Batzli’s songwriting. In 2018, LINE grew beyond a solo project when Maddie reunited with longtime friend Austin Lynch, a bassist who brings a jazz guitar background. Esther Chun joined soon after, providing treble vocals, and Will Ault completed the group, adding drums and Cajon. Beyond the music, what makes LINE special is the apparent joy they take in playing together, and the chemistry that results from that friendship and shared drive. LINE's debut EP, Choosing Sides, tells six stories about growing pains.
