Capital Brewery and New Glarus Brewing were among the local beer makers winning awards at this year's won a bronze medal for its Bavarian Lager in the Dortmunder and German-style Oktoberfest competition. Raspberry Tart in the fruit beer entries and in the American-style lager category for Totally Naked.
Other Wisconsin winners in the 2009 Great American Beer Festival Competition included Rock Bottom Brewery in Milwaukee won a gold medal for "106 Pilsner" in the German-style pilsner category.
