According to a press release, "In response to concerns with the weather, the declared blizzard warning, State, County and City law officials requesting that motorists stay off the roads and in the interest of public safety, the Common Council meeting for tonight, Tuesday, December 8, 2009, has been CANCELLED."
The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 15.
As to how this will affect the project's chances, alders Michael Schumacher and Larry Palm, who were anticipated to miss tonight's meeting, are expected to be in attendance next week. According to city council administrative assistant Lisa Veldran, only Ald. Judy Compton has confirmed she won't be able to make it on the 15th. Ald. Joe Clausius is a possible no-show.
