Last year's version of this game blew me away with its playability and fun. This year we just get minor improvements like Rock and Fire Pitching, which adds a welcome degree of realism. You have less control over pitch locations, just as in real baseball.
Last year's MVP included some impressive mini-games, but they're gone here. It's really sad, as even the most basic baseball videogame has a homerun derby and an additional batting challenge. While the pitching mini-games are good for helping you to pick up the subtleties of the Rock and Fire system, you're still left feeling cheated.
MVP 07 NCAA Baseball is nothing more than an inexpensive diversion to tide you over until 2K's baseball title comes out in a couple of weeks.
