Riding bikes... Dining local... Conserving energy at home and work... Going green is more important than ever! Make sure to mark your calendars for the seventh annual Isthmus Green Day, a celebration of sustainability and healthy living. The expo runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Monona Terrace in downtown Madison on Saturday, April 26. Admission is free and open to the public.
Join us for this full day of eco-fun and environmental learning. It will feature multiple presentations on a variety of topics, including how to develop a household sustainability program, the creation of a worm composting bin, home improvement ideas for energy efficiency, and the process of starting a solar power installation.
Along with the on-stage events, this celebration for green living will once again have plenty of opportunities for exploration, including recycled art displays, sustainable shopping, pampering opportunities, and useful home hints. In addition, your taste buds will thank you for a series of healthy and delicious food samples. Expect an entire exhibition hall filled with vendors of green goods, local flavors, and heaps of helpful information!
Guests are encouraged to bring items to help fill donation bins provided by Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin. Donors will be entered into a contest to win tickets to Isthmus a la Carts, our highly-anticipated food cart festival at Olin Park on Friday, May 9.
