Mark Bittman
Mark Bittman, the acclaimed New York Times food columnist, will make his Madison debut at the fifth annual Isthmus Green Day. The environmental expo will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Monona Terrace. Admission is free and open to the public.
Along with his Times column, The Minimalist, Bittman has published several books, including How to Cook Everything and The Best Recipes in the World. His latest book, Food Matters, is a guide to responsible eating. He also appears regularly on The Today Show and has hosted a PBS series based on How to Cook Everything.
At Isthmus Green Day, Bittman will discuss conscious eating and examine the connection between diet, health and the environment. He will speak at 2 p.m. Food Fight Restaurant Group is co-sponsoring his appearance.
Isthmus Green Day is a free, annual, family-friendly event that helps people in the Madison area become a little bit greener. It features sustainable products, food samples, chef demonstrations, kids activities, recycled art and speakers.
