Temperatures finally warmed up last weekend, and Madison came out to play. Isthmus set itself the task of chronicling 24 hours' worth of fun, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday. Along with students of UW journalism professors Sue Robinson and Lucas Graves, our reporters fanned out north, south, east and west in search of Madisonians amusing themselves in every way possible.
What did we find? Well, what didn't we find? Bar-hopping, belly-dancing, poetry-reading, ice-fishing, karaoke-singing, boating, egg-decorating, golfing, rock-climbing, knitting, dancing, brunching, theater-going, plane-flying and euchre-playing, not to mention gearing up for the Badgers basketball game on Saturday night.
Readers pitched in on social media, using the hashtag #madplay. We captured the whole thing on the fly -- from photos to tweets to video to vignettes -- at MadisonAtPlay.com.
Check out the website, and the excerpts below, for snippets of a glorious spring weekend in Madison. We hope reading about it is almost as fun as experiencing it live.
