A quick plug for Patrice Leconte's Intimate Strangers, which opens at Hilldale Theatre this weekend. Starring Fabrice Luchini as a stuck-in-the-mud tax attorney and Sandrine Bonnaire as a Hitchcockian mystery woman who wanders into his office one day and mistakes him for a psychiatrist, this French thriller gets a nice tone going, at once lulling and disturbing. By the time their sessions are completed, analyst and analysand (it isn't always clear which is which) have revealed everything and nothing about themselves. It's Leconte's astute take on both therapy and romance.
