Nine Queens

From Argentina, Nine Queens is a game of three-card monte in which writer-director FabiÃn Bielinsky is the dealer and we're the mark. Watch this enjoyable heist flick closely enough and you may actually see Bielinsky stick its surprise ending up his sleeve. But the real pleasure comes from the smooth way he turns over a card. GastÃn Pauls and Ricardo DarÃn star as a pair of con men who may also be conning each other while unloading the Nine Queens, which sounds like a killer poker hand but is in fact a set of rare, valuable ' and did I mention forged? ' stamps.
