Today's image is titled train, going nowhere... and was photographed by Monique J. Isham.
"This engine sits permanently on tracks that go no where, beside a train station that is now used for something else," writes Isham in the caption to this photo, taken of the old Milwaukee Road Passenger and Freight Depot on West Washington Avenue in downtown Madison. The engine is of Milwaukee Road vintage too, and has been the site of retail shops in its new stationary home at the end of the line next to the Kohl Center. "It's sort of sad," she notes, "as this was once a very active track for trains going east and west through Wisconsin."
