Madison's lakeside beaches and lifeguard services officially opened for the season June 14, with hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for B.B. Clarke, Olbrich, Tenney, and Vilas Park beaches, and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. for Bernie's, Esther, James Madison, Olin, Spring Harbor and Warner beaches. More details from the city's parks division:
Olbrich, B.B. Clarke, Vilas and Tenney Park beaches have showers, changing rooms and concessions available. B.B. Clarke Beach has a diving platform.
Conditions of the beaches change often. The Health Department monitors the weekly condition and bacteria count at the beaches.
