Late light of the east side
Today's image is titled "Late light over the east side" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
This photo, shot Tuesday evening, shows a youth soccer practice at Reynolds Park in the Tenney-Lapham neighborhood on the near east side of town. The sun was still strong and bright, it being just two days before the solstice. Summer officially starts today, at 1:06 p.m. There will be 16 hours and 33 minutes of daylight on this, the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere -- plenty of time to play well into the night in backyards and parks throughout Madison.
