There should be more than enough wind for any sailboats embarking upon Madison's lakes today, with strong southwest winds ranging from 10 to 30 mph reaching gusts up to 40 mph by the afternoon, amidst hot temperatures and a bright spring sun. This photo by Jones was taken last Friday evening from the municipal parking lot behind the Rubin's furniture shop on East Wilson Street, zeroing in on a sailbot traversing Lake Monona. "Looking across John Nolen Drive to get the shot," he explains, "the biggest trick was avoiding the moving vehicles that were constantly crossing the lens path."
