Today's image is titled Blooming Capitol and was photographed by Michael Ejercito.
"One of the things I look forward to in spring are the beautiful tulips that bloom around the State Capitol Building," notes Ejercito in the caption for this picture taken a week ago. "This year, just as I was walking up State Street to take this photo, they were doing construction and digging up all the tulips along the northwest and southwest corner even though they were in full bloom."
Alas, the tulips at the King Street corner seen here are gone now too, as are those in the flower beds lining the walkways to the Capitol's doors. Landscaping crews remain busy around its grounds, though, working around construction now underway along the sidewalks of the corner facing State Street.
