In a few minutes Kurt and I will be talking to Sara Finger, the director of the Wisconsin Alliance for Women's Health. She will give us some insight into how the governor's budget affects programs for women's health, from BadgerCare to child support. In addition Walker is seeking to roll back laws which require insurance companies and pharmacies to provide women with contraception.
The organization also has a great budget blog, in which a couple of its writers have been analyzing various aspects of the budget, including provisions unrelated to women's health. This post, for instance, discusses Walker's proposal to repeal a law that indexes tax credits for low-income families to inflation. Tax relief for the rich, but not for the poor.
