Jason Dorgan is fast closing in on his goal of becoming the first person to run the length of Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail in one persistent three-week effort.
Despite a tight right hamstring on Wednesday, the Madison ultramarathoning veteran logged another 50 miles of established trail segments and connecting roads to finish outside Hartford -- leaving a mere 185 miles to trail's end in Door County.
"For the better part of the day the miles just flew by with no problems," he writes in his Wednesday blog post, adding that prospects for a Sunday afternoon finish appear favorable.
Today, he intends to run through Slinger, West Bend and the Northern Kettle Moraine en route to Greenbush. To follow along, visit Ice Age Trail 1000, which Dorgan has built into an impressive series of daily reports, photographs and links to media coverage and Ice Age Trail resources.
