What's more appropriate for Friday the Thirteenth than a slasher flick? Bait is a short horror film directed by Hank Carlson of Autumn Night Studios. Originating in Green Bay, the film is described as the story of a man who "makes a wrong turn and ends up in a very bad spot." Of course, there's no shortage of blood and gore.
Bait has been screened several times across Wisconsin. It was shown in Madison at the Oct. 2005 monthly Wis-Kino screening, and subsequently won Best Horror entry at the 2006 Wildwood Film Festival in Appleton. Bait is also being screened at It Came From Lake Michigan!, an independent film festival in Racine that focuses on horror, sci-fi, and fantasy flicks; it will be showing at the UW-Parkside campus on Saturday, Oct. 21.
The six-and-a-half minute short film follows below.
