The UW Cinematheque teams up with the Academy Film Archive for this ode to the Master of Suspense. Screenings of two seldom-screened shorts -- 1944's Aventure Malgache and Bon Voyage -- are on the docket, along with screen tests, trailers and other hard-to-find archival materials.

This benefit for Movin' Out, an affordable-housing advocacy group for people with disabilities, features five short films by local production companies. Highlights include Game Day, a musical comedy about baseball that won the 2014 48-Hour Film Festival, and Quantum of Vengeance, a thriller about a time-traveling college student on a quest to solve her brother's murder. There will also be music by Stereo Side Effect and comedy by Nate Bjork.

Winner of the Best Narrative Feature award at the 2014 Tribeca Film Fest, this international film finds absurdist humor in a sobering topic: war. A group of female Israeli soldiers spend so much time on sex, pranks and videogames that they threaten to leave the army's human resource department in shambles.
