When the book on Madison bands is written, a portion of it will certainly be dedicated to the exploits of Isaac Schulze who has played a role in numerous local projects: Clip the Daisies, Ladybeard and, of course, both versions of Mad Trucker Gone Mad, to name maybe the most prominent.
In the latter, he is known as Del Monte Carlo and he provides much of the, errrrr, color in his interview with Aaron Veenstra. It's safe to say that Schulze has forgotten more about the Madison scene than you will ever know.
MTGM is a runaway freight train on stage, creating enough momentum to propel all stragglers to the dance floor after just a few bars. The rhythm section of Chris Langkamp (Billy Gas) on bass and Dave Meuhlbauer (Five Card Jack) on drums keep the truck in gear, but Del Monte Carlo definitely steers.
