Revelry Music & Arts Festival 2014
Last May the UW launched the Revelry Music & Arts Festival as an alternative to the booze-soaked Mifflin Street Block Party. The outdoor event returns on May 3 from noon to 10 p.m., rain or shine, along with beer and other refreshments. But live music remains the focus.
The 2014 lineup is a who's who of national touring acts, including electronic-music innovator Dillon Francis, indie-pop wild child Sky Ferreira and rapper Waka Flocka Flame. There will also be sets by G-Eazy, Angel Olsen, Bronze Radio Return and Promised Land Sound.
Unlike last year, performances will take place on Langdon Street, near the Memorial Union, according to publicist Bess Donoghue. She says this spot was chosen because it can accommodate more fans than last year's locations: Union South Plaza and Engineering Mall. Moving the event to the heart of campus also means more business for the eateries inside the Union.
Tickets for non-students will be available the day of the fest, at a to-be-determined location, Donoghue says. A picture I.D. will be required for entry.
Ongoing updates will be provided via the fest's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
