Robert J. Conaway's Moon Gypsies are calling it quits. "Mostly we're disbanding because we are each following our own musical paths," says Conaway. "Chris Wagoner and Mary Gaines have always wanted to do a jazzier thing. They're pursuing their new ensemble, the Stellanovas. And I've always wanted to pursue the bluesy, country, roots-rock songwriting thing.
"Plus," he adds, "we want to create a future market for our music by disbanding now and someday cashing in big-time on the comeback circuit."
Clear Blue Betty's husband-wife team of Beth and Tony Kille have announced that they'll move to Houston in June. "Leaving behind this Madison musical community is a crazy thing to do," Beth told attendees of the Madison Area Music Awards last Saturday night at the Barrymore Theatre.
