Students come and students go, so it's not unusual for the UW-Madison radio station, 91.7 FM WSUM, to announce that it has added an on-air host. Then again, Tom Teuber is not just any host. Teuber is the former program director at 105.5 Triple M and a familiar voice on the local airwaves. "We talked him into taking a morning shift once per week for us," says Dave Black, WSUM's general manager. "He is a great influence on our students, and we are very grateful that he is willing to put in the time." You can hear Teuber Mondays at 6-8 a.m.
Locksley moved to New York City. But the Badger State still reigns in their heart. To prove it, Locksley just released "Oh, Wisconsin," a cheery, hook-filled song that's an ode to the place where they grew up. Members Jesse and Jordan Laz, Kai Kennedy and Sam Bair all graduated from Madison West High School. Locksley has made national waves with their latest single, "The Whip." The song was recently used to back the trailer for the Johnny Depp movie Rango. You can make a donation to Wisconsin charities in exchange for downloading "Oh, Wisconsin" here.
Zola Jesus will be the headline act when she tours 19 major North American cities this spring. The former UW-Madison student will return to town long enough to play a show at the High Noon Saloon on April 29.
