MadTracks -- 'I Been Over Dere' by The Gomers

Okay, the concept's pretty simple: Take "I've Been Everywhere," Johnny Cash's kickin' country recitation of the many cities and towns he'd rambled through, and then change all those burgs to places in Wisconsin. Now, in some hands, this would be just so much cornball Badgerania, but we're talking about

Of course, a song this localized wouldn't be complete without Wisconsin-oriented visuals to accompany it, and that's where you come in. The Gomers are asking anyone with still pictures or video pertaining to the cities, villages, and towns mentioned in "I Been Over Dere" to send them in for inclusion in a video for the song, which appears on their rew release Mike Zirkel: The Album.

And don't stint on the kitsch. This is Wisconsin, after all, and we love our fibreglass cows, colorful country taverns, stuffed deer decked out in blaze-orange hunting gear and pretty much anything else that communicates a hearty sense of Midwestern gemutlichkeit. Email a copy of your photo or video to beeftone at gmail.com or just send the fellas links to your online images. Once enough material has come in, Gomers alum Mark Hervey, a media pro based in New York, will edit everything together into what's sure to be a wickedly funny music video.
