A former Scooter Therapy location at 9 North Ingersoll will now provide care and maintenance for the city's art scene with Bright Red Studios. If its colorful grand opening earlier this month is any indicator, Madison is about to get a good tune-up.
Bright Red founder and Madison native Evan Bradbury already has his two private studios rented. The walls are currently chockablock with an exhibition of a dozen local fine artists. Bradbury's opening filled the large, uplifting space with friends, family, artists and musicians, including live sets by risk-taking Madison singer-songwriter Ben Cameron.
Bradbury wants Bright Red to a place where "anybody can make art." He'll also host music and spoken-word performance, a great addition to the emerging small-show circuit in town.
