Book to Art Club

Explore literature in a hands-on, creative way with the Book to Art Club. Read the book and come make a creative project based on the book's themes. All are welcome-- no experience in art making necessary. Supplies provided. This month we will be creating art inspired by Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline. Part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed. A visual love letter to the 80s and geek culture. This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
