Construct-U Training

Attend one of the orientations below to get details about the next Construct-U class session, which takes place August 10 to 25, 2015. Please note that orientations may take up to two hours. You don't need to pre-register for orientations.

Please feel free to show up to any date and forward information on to anyone.

We will use the entire 2 hour session to cover an overview of our program and to take an adult basic education test to qualify for the program. The following orientations will take place at the YWCA Empowerment Center:

YWCA's Construct-U program will help you prepare for and find permanent employment with a family-supporting wage. The first week of the program is a job-readiness class that includes training on résumé writing, interview skills, computer skills, and much more. The next five weeks is the Construct-U class. The program will put you on track to a great career in the construction industry. Some class highlights:

- Complete OSHA-10 Certificate

- Complete Flagging Certificate

- Learn about Driver's License Recovery Program

- Prepare for CDL permit test

- Take field trips

- Meet road construction employers

- Get connected with apprenticeship opportunities
