Dane County Farmers' Market
media release: The Dane County Farmers’ Market will be held at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday, July 13, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for our Annual Farmers’ Market at Breese Stevens Field.
Join us for a special market filled with Wisconsin goodness at Breese Stevens Field, 917 E. Mifflin Street, Madison, WI 53703, our traditional location during the annual Art Fair on the Square. From 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., you can enjoy a delicious array of vegetables, cheese, meat, flowers, baked goods, fruit, and other great products - all grown and raised in Wisconsin by the person behind the stand.
SNAP/EBT Services will be provided from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the green tent Information Booth. An added bonus? The Double Dollars nutrition program is currently underway at all of our markets. This means that when you take $20 out of your FoodShare account, you will automatically receive an additional $20 to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables grown by your local farmers.
We’ll also be offering free food scrap drop off provided by Green Box Compost. Bring your food scraps from your weekly meals, drop them into the bins at our green Information Booth at the entrance of the market, then head into rows of vendors to replenish your fridge for the week! While this is a special one time Saturday food scrap drop off opportunity, we offer weekly food scrap drops offs at our weekly Wednesday Market!
In addition to regular agricultural market vendors, you can also purchase a copy of The Dane County Farmers’ Market Cookbook: Local Foods, Global Flavors at the green tent Information Booth.
Customers can bike, bus, walk or drive to Breese Stevens Field. Customer parking can be found at many neighboring garages. The streets immediately surrounding Breese Stevens Field will be reserved for market vendors only. Pets are not permitted. Service animals are allowed.
