media release: Looking to support local artists and find that perfect gift for mom? Don’t miss the 15th Annual Marquette-Atwood Art Walk Sunday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. “It’s a great outdoor art show nestled among the homes of the Marquette-Atwood neighborhood,” said Debbie Olin, event organizer and neighborhood artist.
The 60 artists will display their works at 39 residential locations in and around the near Eastside of Madison. The event is free. Items will be available for purchase from individual artists. Many displays will be outdoors. It’s a great show to support local artists and their beautiful work says Olin.
Attendees will find a variety of artists skilled in pottery, watercolor and acrylic painting, jewelry, photography, pen and ink illustrations, fiber arts and wearables, sculpture, and stained glass. Learn more about our artists at www.marquette-atwoodartwalk.
Art Walk was started in 2010 by two well-known potters from Madison, Jenny Blasen and Gloria Van Dixhorn.
“Art Walk has grown to spending an hour or all Sunday afternoon strolling the neighborhood, going to nearby restaurants, and experiencing city parks with amazing views of Lake Monona,” says Olin. “It’s also a great way to support local artists.”
Digital maps, artists and photos of their work are available online at www.marquette-atwoodartwalk.
