This informal reception and celebration will be on Monday, October 17 from 4:30-6:30pm here at our Wisconsin Academy offices at 1922 University Ave., Madison, 53726. The Academy’s Executive Director Jane Elder will be present to discuss Shifting Currents and introduce the curator of the exhibit Kathryn Lederhause, who will discuss the images and the photographers who took them.
Parking: arrive early to park in the Wisconsin Academy’s back lot and alley, or you may park in Lot 41 down the street (in the back of the UW Foundation building) for free after 4:30pm.
The exhibit, curated by the Madison Art Guild and Kathryn Lederhause, contains photographs by the following artists: Annette Knapstein, Kan Halfmann, Kathryn Lederhause, Steven Ralser, Daryl Sherman, Donald Sylvester, and Trudi Theisen.
The Shifting Currents report is the culmination of four years of work by the Wisconsin Academy’s Waters of Wisconsin initiative to examine the state of our waters today. The report explores some of the root causes of water pollution and ecosystem degradation in Wisconsin, contains a summary of current water issues, and offers recommendations and identifies opportunities to safeguard Wisconsin’s waters in the decades ahead.
