media release: Aaron was born in the mill town of Paterson, New Jersey, and grew up in Bexley, Ohio, but he honed his songwriting skills while he lived in Madison (where he played in venues including the Hog and the MadFolk series of "Folk on State"). Now living in Philadelphia, his mission continues to be to write songs about things nobody has written about before. He describes his songs as wild-mind bittersweet acoustic music. Since 2005, he has released four CDs.
His shows include humorous, meandering stories that will keep you every bit as captivated as the music itself -- beautiful guitar work, catchy melodies, and his sweet baritone voice and eye-popping vocal range. Aaron has opened for Lucy Kaplansky, Tracy Grammer, Vance Gilbert and other folk luminaries. He has written with Craig Bickhardt, Phil Henry and Michael Ronstadt. Aaron’s songwriting was honored by the Kerrville Folk Festival, which named him a New Folk Finalist in 2018 and 2011.

The Wild Hog in the Woods Coffeehouse is a volunteer operated cooperative. Musicians also volunteer their talents. At the physical Coffeehouse, we have Phillup the Pig, a "pass the hat" ceramic piggy bank for collecting donations that go to the musicians. A Donate button appears on each concert's page using PayPal. The donations will be divided between the performer and the Wil-Mar Neigborhood Center. Both performers and the Center have seen reduced income during the pandemic. Both need your support, so please give generoulsy. The Hog and Wil-Mar each are 501(c)3 charitable organizations.
