Founded in New York City in 2009, the A.W.Duo (Aksyonova /Waldo Duo) has performed at Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and other top venues in the United States and China. With playing described as "exciting... ravishing... sublime" (Ellen Moryl - Founder/Director Emeritus, Piccolo Spoleto), the duo celebrates historical and contemporary works for cello and piano. Currently based on the west side of Madison, James and Alyona are both active as performers and educators in and beyond south central Wisconsin.
