RSVP for Back to Basic
Prairie Athletic Club, Sun Prairie 1010 N. Bird St., Sun Prairie, Wisconsin
Prairie Athletic Club (PAC) is hosting its 2nd annual Back to Basic athletic event, benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project, on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the PAC, located at 1010 North Bird Street in Sun Prairie. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a national organization that aims to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured services members and provides programs and services to meet the needs of those service members.
During the Basic to Basic event, athletic participants can choose one of two different CrossFit style workouts to compete in, and stay for prizes, silent auction items, a cookout, sponsor booth exhibits and live music. The Murph Challenge includes a one mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 pushups, 300 squats and a finishing one mile run while wearing a 20 pound vest or body armor. The Armed Forces Physical Entry Challenge offers a Marine, Army, or Air Force option, taking participants through a mix of crunches, pull-ups or flexed arm hang, push-ups and a timed run. Spectators, interested donors and those curious about CrossFit are welcome to attend.
“In person” participants can compete individually, with a partner, or on a team by signing up directly on the PAC’s CrossFit Club webpage at www.crossfitvultus.com by May 28. Donations and virtual athletes are also accepted on the website. “Virtual athletes” can complete the workout anywhere and still be part of the fundraising event. Registration is $50 for all participants (members of the PAC, non-members of the PAC, and virtual athletes).
