Bark River Family Fun Float
press release: Join the Friends of Glacial Heritage Area for a family paddle down the Bark River near Fort Atkinson on Saturday, August 11. The paddle begins at Burnt Village County Park on County Highway N in Jefferson County and ends at Haumerson’s Pond, Bark River Park, on South 4th Street, Fort Atkinson.
Enjoy a gently-winding, scenic paddle with opportunities to see owls, turtles, frogs and herons. The 5-mile river trip takes a little over two hours. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with fellow paddlers at the conclusion of the paddle.
Launch time is 10 AM, and a free car shuttle begins at 9:15 AM so paddlers can park their vehicles at the Haumerson’s Pond lot. Please unload your gear and be ready shuttle prior to the launch time.
