Beers Outside the Mainstream

press release: Join us for this special event with beer expert Robin Shepard, author of the weekly Beer Here! column in Isthmus. As a craft-beer aficionado, Robin has traveled extensively across the US looking for the perfect pint, as well as tracking trends and the evolution of the beer making industry.  He’ll discuss the current state of American craft brewing with a focus on breweries that are pushing the envelope with innovative styles and flavors beyond what you’d find in a “typical” glass of beer. The library presentation is free and open to the public.

Following the lecture, Robin will lead a tasting of several “outside the mainstream” beers at the Free House, 1904 Parmenter St. Tickets are available for purchase for $15 at the library’s lower-level reference desk, and each ticket includes a complimentary membership in the Friends of the Middleton Public Library!  All proceeds, after costs, go to benefit the Friends.
