Bicycle Fix-It Station Grand Opening

press release: DreamBikes in Madison is proud to partner with and have the support of Smart Toyota to offer our bicycling community a fix-it station. For commuters and bicycle enthusiasts on the west side of Madison, Smart Toyota is conveniently located on the Capital City Trail where a station will be built and be available to the general public starting May 11, 2019. Such a station allows bikers to address minor bicycle-related issues at the station, pump and tools included.
With more stations planned, DreamBikes hopes to include upkeep & maintenance as part of the curriculum offered to their youth employees. “Broadening the scope of work that our techs learn, allows them to see the benefit of their labor. It opens their eyes to another side of bicycling that they don’t see: infrastructure. They love seeing the applications and planning and engineering that allows bikers to enjoy their sport. It then becomes more than just getting on a bike and riding around the block,” says DreamBikes manager Matthew Martinez.
“Cyclists use the Capital City Trail that runs alongside our dealership year-round,” says Smart Toyota Operations Manager Rob Jordan. “This was a perfect opportunity for us to partner with DreamBikes to provide this fix-it station for our local community while, at the same time, help the young individuals within the DreamBikes program.”
DreamBikes will be on hand at Smart Toyota on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 11am-4pm celebrating the unveiling. Mechanics will be available to offer community members safety checks of bicycles as well as accept donations. Want to learn how to use the fix-it station? DreamBikes offers various “Bike Maintenance 101” workshops throughout the year.
