press release: The University of Wisconsin will host the 2016 Big Ten Individual Championship from Friday-Monday, Nov. 4-7 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Featuring the Big Ten's top men's players, the tournament will crown the fall season's singles and doubles champions.
The Big Ten Individual Championship will feature a 64-player singles draw and a 32-team doubles draw as well as consolation draws for each. Each singles player will be guaranteed three matches.
The tournament field is made up of players from: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin. All 10 Badgers on the roster are slated the participate this weekend.
Doubles play is slated to begin on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at approximately 9 a.m. followed by singles play. All times after the 9 a.m. matches are approximate as the new matches will start as soon as the courts are free.
The event is free and open to the public.
Michigan's Davis Crocker won the 2015 Big Ten Singles Championship, which was hosted by the University of Iowa in Iowa City. The Nebraska duo of Dusty and Toby Boyer took home the doubles crown.
