press release: Freya is the Norse goddess of love, sex, beauty, fertility, gold, shamanic sorcery, war, and death, which pretty much aligns with our mission statement. Therefore, on Saturday, October 5th, Bos Meadery will once again host Freya Fest, a festival celebrating the vibrant community of female musicians and female-led bands in Madison!
There'll be food, mead, beer, and much merriment!
Guess who's joining us for Freya Fest 2019?
Punk Ass Unicorns: four cool ass people who met at Ladies Rock Camp here in Madison and decided to start our own punk band. We write original music and do a few covers too. There will be F bombs dropped, we guarantee it.
Georgia Rae began playing fiddle at the age of 5. She won her first state championship in 2013 in her home state Illinois. By the time she was 18 she had won 7 state championships (IL, MN, WI) 5 state twin championships (CO, MN) and one National twin win.

Ladyscissors: "The [quartet] blends those late-Fifties-style vocal elements and early-Sixties instrumental references, protecting the ethos of the not-too-studied brand of rock musician that delivers it straight from the gut while spiking the punch with a dose of punk raunchiness. As the name might suggest, Ladyscissors keeps the music fun and the production decidedly real." - Local Sounds Magazine
The Hasbians: purveyors of loud from Madison, WI
BingBong formed in 2012 and has quickly become one of Madison's favorite bands. Formed of a desire to perform precision pop tunes live, they play the hookiest of hooks that command your feet to move as an uncontrollable smile draws across your face.
