press release: First Saturday every month year round, meets at 1650 Sherman Avenue (Tenney Park Beach parking lot). Outings are free, fun, family friendly and educational. No registration required, no pets. Wear a mask and maintain social distance. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring binoculars or a camera if you have one! Post pictures and comments on the Friends of Tenney-Lapham and Friends of Yahara River Parkway Facebook pages. Naturalist led Bird and Nature Outings at Tenney Park every month are co-sponsored by Madison FUN partners Madison Parks, Madison Audubon, Sierra Club, Friends of Tenney Lapham Neighborhood and Friends of the Yahara River Parkway. Enjoy a Mallard's view of Madison lakes and shorelines! Arrive early before 1pm and and check in at the Pontoon Pier to sign a waiver and get a life jacket to reserve your spot, limit 15 people. If the pontoon is full enjoy a nature stroll along Lake Mendota and the Yahara Riverway and see http://mscr.org for additional MSCR pontoon tours. The Pontoon Nature Tour may go to Lake Mendota or to Lake Monona and Lake Waubesa depending on wind and weather. Learn about the history and the nature you see and the importance of clean lakes and natural shorelines. Enjoy looking for turtles, birds and other wildlife!
