Cheeseheads: The Documentary

press release: For the past few months, director John Mitchell has been making the rounds across the state, donating copies of his documentary on Wisconsin's weird and underseen corners of life to public schools and library systems.

Mitchell's film CHEESEHEADS avoids the outsized stigmas of beer-swilling tailgaters and foamhat faithful. It expands a personal question into a universal one, taking Mitchell on an extensive journey -- a journey that racked up hundreds of miles across dozens of cities and over 5 years of its director's life.

LakeFrontRow's David Klein will present the film along with John Mitchell and a couple guests from UW-Madison: lexicographer Luanne von Schneidemesser and Joseph Salmons from the Department of German.
