Chele Isaac
to
Madison Museum of Contemporary Art 227 State St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
The opening event for Madison-based artist Chele Isaac’s solo show, the understory, features a lecture about the work by the artist. The massive installation is a cylindrical structure, 30 feet in diameter, with seven videos projected on its inside surface, telling a nonlinear story of 21st-century life. The structure recreates the cyclorama, a late-19th century form of movie viewing in which spectators stood in the middle of screens to view a landscape or city. Through Nov. 12.
Sept. 2, 2017 – November 12, 2017. Opening reception, September 22, 6–9 pm.
