press release: On December 9th, the opening reception for the exhibition Across the Sea by artist Chen Cheng-Po will be featured. This exhibition will be open until February 20th, and is located in the Class of 1925 Gallery in Union South. Light refreshments will be served.
In this exhibition, the life of Chen is displayed through his art over time. This artist, alive from 1895-1947 captured the culture of his hometown through his pieces. He wanted to reform the aesthetic education in Taiwanese society. Over the years, Chen traveled from Tokyo, to Shanghai, to Taiwan. These stepping stones of movement in his life are reflected in his pieces.
