Ches Smith Trio, Lundberg + Packard + Pireh Trio

Tone Madison, Just Coffee Cooperative, Yahara Music and Good Style Shop present GateSound, a night of music at the Gates of Heaven in James Madison Park. The first in a sporadic series combining adventurous sound with this beautiful, intimate, historic space.

CHES SMITH (http://www.chessmith.com/) is a drummer and improvisor who has collaborated with artists ranging from Lee Konitz to Mary Halvorson to Xiu Xiu. He plays here in a new trio with fellow New Yorkers Craig Taborn (piano) and Mat Maneri (viola). This show will follow the January release of this trio's first album, THE BELL.

LUNDBERG + PACKARD + PIREH TRIO is the adventurous, improvisational collaboration of bassist Rob Lundberg of Madison, drummer Ryan Packard of Chicago, and guitarist Cyrus Pireh of Minneapolis.
