Come out of the cold and into the tropics for a lively performance of traditional Southeast Asian music, dance and martial arts by the Zhong Yi Kung Fu Association at Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Saturday, January 23. Performances are approximately 45 minutes and take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Following each performance, guests are welcomed into the lush greenery of Olbrich’s tropical Bolz Conservatory.
The Children of the Rainforest series celebrates cultural differences of rainforest regions around the world with high energy performances for children and families. The Zhong Yi Kung Fu Association will kick off the series with a traditional Lion Dance as well as a selection of other performances enjoyed and celebrated by people living in the tropical regions of China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
Admission for Children of the Rainforest is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 to 12. Children ages 2 and under are free. Entry into the Bolz Conservatory is included in the admission price. Admission is taken at the door beginning one hour before each performance.

Children of the Rainforest returns on February 27 with performances by DanzTrad: Danza Tradicional Mexicana at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
