press release: Several area musicians will be joining forces to offer original and traditional holiday music in a benefit concert supporting Luke House Community Meal Program. The event will be held in the nightclub at The Brink Lounge in Madison on Thursday, December 20, 2018, beginning at 7:00 pm.
For more than 25 years, the Luke House Community Meal Program, a 501(c)3, has brought Dane County church groups and other faith-based communities together to help feed local people who are in need. The program serves lunch Monday through Thursday and dinner Sunday through Thursday at Luke House in Madison’s Williamson Street neighborhood, for a total of between 80,000 and 100,000 individual meals served yearly. Tracy Jane Comer (www.tracyjanecomer.com) will perform and also serve as host/emcee. Comer is a longtime and well-known Madison area musician whose many awards include Instrumentalist of the Year Award (2008) from the Madison Area Music Association. Also performing will be five-piece Folk/Americana group Common Chord (www.commonchord.us), plus additional guest artists Doug Cleary of DeForest (vocals/guitar) and Kristin Landis of Verona (cello). The evening will include original as well as traditional holiday music and will include collaborations with all participants plus individual sets.
The event will be held in the nightclub at The Brink Lounge, 701 East Washington Street in Madison, on Thursday, December 20, 2018 beginning at 7:00 pm. Admission fee is a minimum $5 donation per person at the door (cash or check), or equivalent item(s) from Luke House’s needs list in lieu of donation.
