press release: The eighth annual Community Breastfeeding Awards will honor six individuals, businesses and organizations who have made a difference in protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding in our community. The awards will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa Street, at 6:30 PM. The event is sponsored by the Breastfeeding Coalition of South Central Wisconsin.
Breastfeeding makes a major contribution to the health of both mother and child and enhances the health and well being of families and society as a whole. Breastfeeding families need the acceptance and support of workplaces, child care settings, public spaces and health care facilities. The Breastfeeding Coalition of South Central Wisconsin is pleased to present this year’s Community Breastfeeding Awards to recognize and celebrate members of our community who are key in promoting and supporting breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Friendly Business Award: Dr. Amy Anderson, Bakke Clinic
Breastfeeding Friendly Large Employer Award: UW Hospital and Clinics, Madison
Breastfeeding Friendly Small Employer Award: Nutrition and Health Associates, Inc., Rock County
Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Award: Mariposa Learning Center, Stoughton
Healthcare Award: Robbie Sonnentag, Director of Women and Children Services, St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison
Breastfeeding Advocate Award: State Representative Lisa Subeck
